Temporary Storage of Antenna Remove the safety wires and disconnect the cable tie-downs at the front and rear of the antenna. See Figure 4. Save the connecting hardware so that the cable tie-downs can be reconnected to the skid for its return shipment. Next remove two bolts holding the inner sleeve inside the antenna trunnion and the trunnion support post of the skid as shown in Figure 5. The sleeve will drop within the support post and disengage the trunnion from the post so that the antenna rests freely in the channel cradles. Finally, remove the wooden radome cover before hoisting the antenna off the skid. Cut the six bands and allow the wood panel to fall to the ground. Caution: Do not remove the protective wrapping from the feed until the antenna has been installed on the tower. Caution: Use particular care during hoisting to avoid damaging the antenna radome and feed.
