          INSTALLATION MANUAL FOR GDL ON WINDOWS NT/2000

Quick Install:
---------------

1. COPY directory /gdl31nt to C:\ directory. Or extract from zip files.
   It must be to directory C (ONLY) of your HD.

2. The directory lists is as follow:
	/gdl31  <-------------- should be at root directory
	    -->	Apache/
		gdl31/  <-- it is not there yet. You must copy it from 
			    /gdl31/gdl31/ (of this CD-ROM)
			    OR extract from gdl31-src.zip 

		mysql/
		php/
		gdlstart-nt.bat
		gdlstop-nt.bat
		install-nt.bat

3. Type install-nt.bat
   Note: it will make a temporary directory at C drive as /apache and file my.cnf
         to your root directory. (Don't remove this copied file!!!)
4. Please make sure you have set up your TCP/IP for your PC.
5. Start to run GDL !!! Type gdlstart-nt.bat (or you can make a shortcut)
   Note: it will run mysql and apache web server on your PC. Apache will
   appear as a MS-DOS windows. Don't close it.
6. Using your browser (IE,Netscape), type this address: http://localhost
   Then, you should see your Personal Digital Library at your screen.
7. To stop, type gdlstop-nt.bat from the /gdl31/ directory

Install as Services:
--------------------

Start using GDL:
-----------------
- login as superuser@localhost, password: dawnofdl
- Register your own account using your own email address
- MENU -> Membership -> your account -> confirm set as on / set as superuser
- login as your own account
- Add category
- Add Article
- Search
- etc..

For synchronization:
--------------------
- as superuser
- MENU -> Synchronization
	-> connect (connect to gdlhub.indonesiadln.org at ITB)
	-> read the HELP


Some Modifications:
------------------
/gdl31/gdl31/util/gdl31.ini --> configuration for this server
 	      publisher.ini --> contain your id and serial number

/template/msg_registration.inc
/template/msg_editoraddgrant.inc
/template/msg_copyrights.inc
/template/msg_contactus.inc
