SATTRANS MicroGSM is a unique hardware
and software solution intended for building and operating
small GSM networks with one or more base stations. The
MicroGSM system is an effective means to provide
reliable and affordable mobile communications in areas where
no cellular coverage is available.
The MicroGSM system is indispensable
for companies and organizations conducting operations in
remote territories. Extracting and construction companies,
ship and aircraft operators, military and security forces,
international relief organizations are often in need of
reliable mobile communications for their operational staff in
the field. Satellite networks have ubiquitous coverage areas
but are not always suitable for local communication. The
MicroGSM solution provides excellent calling within the
area of operations and takes advantage of satellite networks
for hauling long-distance and international calls.
SATTRANS MicroGSM provides the following
features:
- GSM-standard voice communication between user terminals
within the coverage area
- Ability to access external telephone networks (PSTN,
mobile and satellite operators)
- The effective coverage area can be as large as 3,000 km2
(depending on terrain characteristics and the height of the
antenna mast)
- The system provides for a GSM standard number of seven
(7) simultaneous calls per each base transceiver station
(BTS)
- Support of any types of mobile terminals compatible with
the system’s GSM frequency range
- Support of any standard subscriber identification module
(SIM), which can be either manually pre-programmed in HLR or
automatically registered as guest users from other operators
(up to 10)
- The maximum number of users in HLR is unlimited,
system’s customer billing module allows to log all calls
within the cell fro billing purposes
- The system stores logs of all service commands between
terminals and the base station for further archiving,
analyzing or display
- Small dimensions and light weight, so it can be carried
around easily
- Quick and easy setup, operation and dismantling due to
the portability of the MicroGSM system.
A standard one-cell MicroGSM solution
consists of the following components:
- base transceiver station (BTS)
- BTS controller
- Mobile switching center with HLR/VLR capabilities
These components are assembled in one
portable case fit for installation in 19-inch racks. The
backside panel has connectors for AC power cable, the
service antenna (N-type connector), VGA monitor and PS/2
keyboard and mouse (for initial setup of the system).
Assembly options (available upon customer
request):
- water- and dustproof case with backup power source for
rough environments
- vehicle installation kit with a 12m mast, a 12dBi omni
directional antenna, and a 12VDC power supply.
Upon request a GSM system supporting dozens
of base stations and thousands of users can be built and
implemented within short time.
