21. Carefully move the cable section through the wall opening
and into the transmitter building by manually shifting the
cable along its supports. Continue until the gas barrier
connector flange is near its final position adjacent to the
matrix. NOTE: If the bracket weldments (#221932) are
installed, they must be removed from the building support
structure. CAUTION: Be careful and avoid damage. Maintain 10 ft (3 m) support intervals. Do not drag the cable or connector along the building support structure. 22. Install the threaded rods (#221929) at each of the four remaining bolt positions in the connector/cable flange interface, leaving about 1 inch (25 mm) of threaded rod toward the connector interface. Use the flange hardware (#209608) with a hex nut instead of the bolt. Tighten the hex nuts to a torque of 38- to 40-ft-lbs. Then install a hex nut (and washers) about 2 inches (25 mm) down each rod at the other end. 23. Install the four bracket weldments and insert the threaded rods. Adjust the final hex nuts on the rods to locate the connector at the specified position, tightening them enough to flatten the lock washers. 24. Install the connector hardware (#209607) loosely in the flange holes to prevent misplacement. 25. Loosely attach the cradles and rectangular plates to the transmitter building support structure. Install the cable in these cradles and in the hangers previously installed outside the building. NOTE: Refer to Section 3.5.2 for hanger installation procedures. Inside the building, only the cradle (#207577) and one rectangular plate (#207630) are used at hanger locations. Paint removal and grounding are not required at these hangers. |
26. After installing all of the initial cable sections in an
antenna feed-through group, the transmitter building wall
feed-through can be installed. Refer to
Section 3.5.7 for the wall feed-through installation procedures.
3.5.2 Installation of Cable in a Hanger For proper installation, each cable hanger must be positioned to allow the hanger U-bolt to seat into one of the outer conductor corrugations. |
