Description
These dual-polarized feeds are designed for mounting
from the front side of the antenna. The antenna components
(reflector, shield, and radome) are assembled for shipment
and must be partially disassembled to install the feed.
Notice
The installation, maintenance, or removal of antenna systems
requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation
instructions have been written for such personnel. Antenna
systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel
to verify proper installation, maintenance, and condition of
equipment.
Andrew disclaims any liability or responsibility for the results
of improper or unsafe installation practices.
Read the Following Instructions Thoroughly Before Assembly
1 |
Attach the antenna assembly to the
mount according to the instructions given with the mount.
Then remove the shield-radome assembly and rf gasket from
the reflector. Caution: Do not attempt to remove the
radome from the shield. The radome is properly tensioned
when it is installed at the factory and may be damaged if
improperly reinstalled in the field.

Apply a liberal amount of conductive
grease to the groove in the hub mounting ring and insert the
O-ring into the groove. Also apply grease to the mounting
ring surfaces that contact the rear surface of the reflector.
Then attach the hub mounting ring to the reflector with the
1/4-20 special flat-head bolts, flat washers, lock washers,
and nuts. Uniformly tighten these bolts with a screwdriver
and a wrench.
|
3 |
Apply the conductive grease to the
mating surfaces of the feed hub and the hub mounting ring.
Insert the hub of the feed into the hub mounting ring from
the front of the reflector. Fasten the hub in place with
the four 1/4-20 clamping bolts, flat washers, and lock washers.
Adjust the feed polarization by rotating the hub with the
clamping bolts loosened. The polarization arrows on the
rear of the hub are parallel to the plane of polarization
(E-vector).
